Does anyone have a Kenwood double din? How do you like it? I have the opportunity to buy one used with navigation. Just want to see how functional and reliable they are. I've never had a Kenwood. I've used everything from Pioneer to Alpine so this brand is new to me. It's the DNX6980 model. I also have a Kenwood back up camera so I figured they would pair up well together.

Just installed a DNX-7120. I had a DNX-7100 before that...sold it with my wifes Ford Explorer. I like the Kenwoods since you can control an Ipod from the radio. I used a Ipod video and placed movies on it for the kids. Then used the Kenwood to push the movies to the rear monitors. Kenwood allows for "zones" to be set up. So the kids have their movie sounds in back and we can listen to the radio in front. My current 7120 came with the Sirius SCC1. You can call Sirius and get a full year for around 70 bucks. Kenwood also uses Garmin. Im privi to them since I had the 7100. You can also go to POI factory dot com and download POI's (Points of interest) into the Kenwood. Olive Garden was one my wife had to have.

Ya the biggest complaint I hear is that it is slow. The stock unit is kinda slow too so nothing new there. I paid for it today so I'm definitely getting it. Thx for the feedback guys. I've owned Pioneer, Alpine and a few other brands but never a Kenwood. I hope it turns out to be a good choice. If not, it'll be up for sale lol.

So, this seller tried to hide this long deep scratch on the HU I bought. He mentioned it as "not bad" and noticeable "only if you really look." You could see this thing from 10 feet away. Then he says its not bad if you turn the unit on. What am I supposed to do, leave the unit on forever? tbh, I think maybe a girlfriend or someone got mad at him and ran their key over it. Went completely from one side to the other and onto the trim and its unrepairable. His pics showed a flawless screen with no scratches or blemishes so I assumed maybe it was an inch or two long and shallow and I could live with that but this was completely not the case. He clearly posted pics from angles where its not noticableable or I think he posted photos of a completely different unit. I immediately asked for a refund but he said no and I said I'll take it to the forum otherwise. He didn't care so I posted my pics and he caught some heat from the members saying it was terrible and finally a super mod and admin came in and said it was deceptive and I should get my money back. Five minutes later he emails me and said he would refund my money. But he won't have it for another week which means I have to wait two weeks b/c paypal likes to drag their feet. I still want a Kenwood and found another one, same model for $450 so I think I'm gonna pick that one up. The seller's defense was that I didn't ask for more pics and that's my fault, not his. I should link you guys to the thread b/c its pretty pathetic but I'm not sure if I can. I will at least post his description and both of our pics tomorrow and let you decide if he or I was wrong. His name is georgiaspl in case you happen to come across him trying to sell you anything. It hasn't put any bad feelings toward Kenwood for me though. I don't want pioneer bc I hear their nav is terrible and basically Kenwood has one of the better nav which I need for work. This set back installing my system at least a few weeks and I was getting so close. Only thing missing is my custom box but at least I didn't end up with this scratched up screen lol.
