2011 Tahoe LT. Two key fobs came with it, worked great for a year. One has now decided to suddenly cease responding to any buttons. New battery you say? Replaced. Fob transmits (confirmed on a 'scope). Other interesting observation is the non-functional keyfob successfully enters Tire Learning Mode by holding Lock&Unlock down for a few seconds... further proving the remote is indeed functioning.

Anyone else had a remote quit like this? I bought 2 new ones (plus keys) and planning on a trip to the dealer to get all 4 reprogrammed (and two keys cut). Any thoughts appreciated !

They do give up the ghost, usually a solder joint breaks that holds the battery on the older ones. Are you not able to program them on the truck without the dealer that year? I can add remotes and keys through the DIC on my 2009.

The dealer will overcharge you try a local radio shop instead or an alarm installer they charge way less

Thats really weird because mine did the same exact thing last weekend. My tahoe is also a '11. Ordered a new one from amazon and going to a locksmith shop to get programed.

Can you reprogram it yourself with an obd scanner? I have a 2011 Avalanche that will need 2 new keys and fobs programmed.

Dealer wants $150 per fob and $125 per key!

So I bought two new keyfobs+keys off Amazon for $32 (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019E48DOM) for my 2011 Tahoe, and took it to the local GM dealer. They only charged $50 to reprogram all 4 and cut the two new keys. Now I have 4 working keys+keyfobs, one is Driver #1, one is Driver #2 and the other two lock/unlock perfectly without changing the seat positions (Memory Seats/Personalization).

I read online that they were...maybe a bad source? who knows...
these are keys from a 03, 04, 12 if your key has a (+) symbol on the metal part then it has a chip, the chipped key can be programmed yourself no need to pay to have it programmed.
