well ive got a 97 tahoe i bought it used from a private seller anyways i was wondering if the 97 tahoe had the option of keyless entry and if so how would i go about finding out if it has that options

Take your whole vin number to a dealer and he can print you out a build sheet for your vehicle with installed equipment. Free. Fobs are about $50 and can be programed yourself if you wish

Or go to www.compnine.com and type in your vin and it will tell you everything that came on it from the factory

I have a '97, with the keyless entry option. Mine doesn't work, but since I'm going to put in a remote start at some point in the future, I'm not going to worry about it now.

Your truck should have came with keyless entry. My 95 did..

So 95 Tahoes came with Keyless entry from the factory too? The one I just got barely came with a key. Are there any specific codes like FCC id's to look for when getting another key fob?
