Shawn set you straight- the extra terminals are for wiring convenience. Just view the amp as having one positive and one negative, but if you're ever running multiple subs with multiple VCs, you can utilize the extra terminals to make your speaker wiring more organized.

Yes, air space/enclosure design plays a huge role in how a speaker sounds. A few months back, I put a 7" driver in a ported box designed just for that sub's characteristics- it's resonant/tuning frequency and volume of air it moved being the key considerations. The net volume of the box and dimensions of the port were sized accordingly. That little sub is in my work van and is mostly kept turned way down because it easily overpowers everything else. On certain bass notes, it'll make the radar detector on the windshield vibrate. It's all about efficiency and the enclosure is what determines this. Those L7s are great for ported enclosures, as many better subs are. But not just any generic enclosure with a randomly-sized port in it. A properly-built ported enclosure can give you more output with less power, often sounding nearly twice as loud as compared to a sealed enclosure.

Well I've always had single cab trucks with 300w shallow subs so never had room to push close to 1k. Now I have tons of room in a tahoe lol.

And yea I built a box. The infamous home depot box lol. Down fire. Again never had room to build a box before, I now understand what an insane difference it makes. It's like a turbocharger for bass by just adding air.

Good deal. Just making sure lol. On your downfire, how much room beneath the sub did you leave for it to breath? Also which way did you aim the port?

And you can fit stuff behind a single cab lol. We did 4 kicker cvr 12s sealed on a Rockford 1500 power in a 95 single cab chevy lol.

With the seat all the way forward in that 95 lol. I can't hug the steering wheel. Either way ive always wanted to make a custom center console but here's the thing, this is also the first time I've ever had my own garage too, so I'm able to take the extra steps like building a box. All the shallow subs had prefabs and it was just easier, didn't want to pay someone $400 to build a box cause I'm a cheap ass lol.

Port aimed to the drivers side. 2-3" of room to breath.

Hey so can you recommend a small 6.5" sub? Looking at possibly putting one on my 4 wheeler. Just the lightly fill the bottom end. Warm the sound up a little bit.

Lol yea I think it was like 2 or 3 clicks from being all the way up. I'm 6'2" and yea it sucked driving his truck haha.

Okay cool. If the 2-3 inches is from the box face and not the sub, you might want another inch or 2.

Yea I'm 6' with long ass giraffe legs so I usually have the seat as far back as possible lol.

Well you're saying 4-6" clearance? Can I turn the box on its side and face the seats instead?

For a 4-wheeler, a Bazooka tube is hard to beat. They have marine versions if you ever get your 4-wheeler dirty or wet. Around here, most have marine speakers in a regular homemade MDF box made to mount to the front or rear rack and they coat it a few good times with bedliner to make it waterproof.

Well you're saying 4-6" clearance? Can I turn the box on its side and face the seats instead?

Yea I'm the same way haha. Na 6 is overkill. I usually do 3" from the sub itself, not the face of the box.

But yes you can face the box the the rear too. Might even be louder but less protected.

Well I built a storage/speaker box that I covered in bedliner for the front rack. Looking at maybe the skar evil 6.5. Might just go with the cheasy pioneer shallow 8". I can seal off a small section and do the sub downfire so I have something for the sub to load against. Just have never used something that small, especially in an open environment.
I'm running infinity reference 5.25 coax I'm looking to change out too.

Like others have said, it's either for a single sub with dual voice coils or 2 subs. It's still a mono output.

Facing up is ideal but I don't wanna take that chance. And facing the 2nd row seats is the only other option to keep it hidden
