Kicker L5 15's - Your thoughts?

A local guy is wanting to trade me 2 silver (i'm guessing the 05 model?) kicker l5 15's for the stock wheels from my yukon. I'm just curious on your thoughts of these. I know some people trash the kicker brand but I've had great luck with them but anyone have experience with the L5s??

He says he had them hoowed up to an audiobahn a2200 at 1 ohm for about 6 months in a ported box.

I plan on putting one on each side behind each captains chair in my yukon. Give me your opinions! Thanks

there is shiney silver, then a cast silver. The new ones of course have the black cone.
If he had that much power, going to them in a ported box, he has over powered them. So the coils could be on the downside.
Heck, sell the wheels and get the 08 versions, new in the box.

Yeah that was my only concern really. I hate buying used audio equipment cause 99% of the time its been played HARD which means nothin but trouble for me LOL. Havent really tried selling the wheels so I'll just hold out. The stock Bose system has enough bump to hold me for a little bit!

yep...electronics (amplifiers, HU's, eq's) work or they don't...used woofers, no telling, may last a long time, or 1 hour

That audiobahn amp doesn't put out near the power its rated, so the coils might be okay. But who knows he could have been clipping the hell out of that amp cranking the gains. Hard to tell. I'd pass.
