A few weeks ago I read a thread in the 2000-2006 section of the forum about how to make your own kill switch. It was an awesome thread and seems easy to do from the instructions that were given. My question is this....

Do any of you guys remember the foot operated dimmer switches of the older model chevy pickups and some other cars. I am thinking of using that for the switch because I can put it in the upper corner under the drivers side and no one would hardly ever notice that it was there. I also think it would be super easy to activate/deactivate. What do you guys think?

Def the second one. I think the switch I am referring too kills the connection to the starter so you cannot even "hotwire" the thing it if was being stolen.

Interesting ... it sounds like a good idea.

I know on star has a 'kill switch' type thing to remotely stop the vehicle if stolen.
I wonder how that works and if one (if they have os) could tap into that manually?

Yeah I think it will be pretty slick. I have an old rusty switch that I took out of a junker at work to try as a concept. Might give lmc truck a call and see if they have any better looking ones.

Good question and you probably could depending on where the switch gets the signal from. I don't have onstar though so I would be of no help on that one.
