So this is a question for my 06 Silverado she is bone stock at 400k.

Got the check engine light so I scanned it and came up with Knock Sensor 2 Circuit low voltage.

Hit O'Reillys site and it came up with 2 types of sensors. One part number is the same as the tahoe. A one wire sensor. Screenshot_20201017-112736_Chrome.jpg
But then there is a 2 wire sensor that I've never seen before and I've done Knock sensors on a few LQ4s in the past Screenshot_20201017-112723_Chrome.jpg
And there is a pretty big price jump between the 2.

Anyone know what's up with these?

The second one looks like the newer external sensors that are mounted on each side of the engine block. I know the one on the right side is just above and to the rear of the starter solenoid. The first is likely the one you have unless that engine you have is one that would have gone in an 07. I think I am correct on this but may be off.

Sorry guys, forgot I dont have the Silvys info in the sig.
It has the L33 in it.
Tony thank you. I figured it was that style, but seeing something unknown to me threw me off a bit. I did my dads 02 LQ4 and my works 01 LQ4 but they we a bit older so I thought this was something new on the DBW engine.
As for price, I can usually get stuff way cheaper running it through my dads company cash account( get the discount but have to pay cash upfront) usually knocks 30 percent off the price.
Thanks a bunch guys it is much appreciated.

learned something new, I guess they started using the external sensors as far back as a 04 Malibu I thought those were only for 07 and up

Manufacturers do weird things man. The 9th gen F-series was bad, f150 with the 5.0 was maf sequential injection unless you opted for the 5 speed then you get speed density and batch fire. 5.0 got a knock sensor and better timing profile, 5.8 no knock sensor and lazy timing, unless it was a cab and chassis then the timing tune ad different again.
