Knocking noise

Hi recently started having loud knocking noise at idle only all time goes away in higher rpm noise coming from around oil pan bottom if engine tried different oil the only thing its making noise go away is lucas oil stabilizer and 20w50 engibe runs very smooth now , did anyone have this problem ? Help plz

How's your oil pressure at idle?

Something on the rotating assembly is loose, lost oil pressure, or broken, plan a tear down soon.

oil pressure is good so far since going thicker oil and lucas noore noise running smooth but not sure if this engine can handle NY cold winter with this heavier oil and if i go with lighter oil noise comes back i have no choice but to stick with heavier oil but any idea ehat that knocking noise is above oil pan ?

A tapping noise would most likely be vavletrain. A knock...that most likely would be the rotating assembly, rod bearing, spun bearing, etc...
Only way to know for sure, tear it down

Do you have any idea what would it cost to put rebuilt engine?
