Nice write up, I just did my LED conversion about 2 weeks ago as well but I am having a problem with the lights being too dim..I followed the cross reference list the NathanJax had written up.

My map lights and center domes are bright when I turn the dimming wheel all the way up to turn on all the lights, but when I use any of the switched, they are very dim. I even swapped the high powered 6 LED festoons from the center domes to the switched lights where the 9 LED festoons were but they also become very dim as well which leads me to believe there is not enough current flowing to the switched lights. I also would like brighter liscense lights but I feel it will be the same lack of current problem.

I used the WLED-x6 LED bulbs for my map lights and 194 WLED-x-x LED bulbs for my liscense plate.

Also, any ideas on switching the 3157 bulbs to LED for the reverse, flashers, and drl's?

I got these for my blinkers. Put them in and got hyper flashing so I ordered some load resistors- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360236618578&ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT
Got 194's exactly like these, can't remember the seller but they are bright, only problem was they were a little too tall for the housing so I cut off a little bit of the wedge and now they work great- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Supe...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
And these for reverse but haven't had time to put them in yet- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...IguKH7Y%3D&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWNX:IT

No idea what that could be hopfully someone will look through my post and possibily know that answer. maybe to much of a power draw and your lights are getting the short end of the stick?

I have been looking into corner turn signal leds but there pricy so im waiting out the storm im on the fence with the drls but like the turn signals id like to see it done before i jump... and for reverse i want to try a hid kit like someone did on here. when it comes to the outside of the car it takes alot of leds to produce good light they are usually washed out easier so in parking lots with ;lighting and what not id go hid...but for drls and turn signals its not a bad idea

also i would go to v-leds and look at their 3157's they have some really good quality lights and there better then ebays VERY bright the hid's of L.E.D's

My order Consisted of the following.... All are "6k cool white"

My Map lights
: (v-Leds.com)
(194 wedge) 4led high power

V-LEDS HID WHITE 4 M-SMT 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158
(i origonally ordered these for the the license but the wedge was too long)

[There expensive (10 bucks a piece) but they are bright as hell and are perfect for what i was looking for

4-Car doors-
(194 wedge) wled-x...check your truck because some said they only had two that actually light up all four doors for me had lights.

2-License Plates-
(194 wedge) WLED-x6

4-Dome Switches-
(4410-x9)...... I believe these are the same bulbs as the bulb under the hood..

4-Dome Middles and Puddle Lights-
(4210-xHP6) notice these are HIGH POWERED aka brighter then the others.

---------- Post added at 03:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:27 PM ----------

Now since the dome switches and door lights are not high powered they are more blueish than the high powered lights and way less bright...but also less expensive(by alot!) If your going all out for matching and performance this is what i suggest..

---------- Post added at 04:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:31 PM ----------

REMEMBER THIS IS A SUGGESTION IF YOUR WILLING TO PAY THE EXTRA FOR BRIGHTER MATCHING BULBS!!!!!get all High powered...

an alternative to my maps lights

8-Maps & Doors & License Plate-
WLED-XHP5's

Dome switched-
try 4410-xHP12 44x10mm theyll match the middle dome lights better..

remember these WILL be MUCH more expensive but they are the match to all the other lights.. you can even leave the doors the way they are and just use the high powered lights for the plates and maps

i went on nathanjacks list as awell and i disagree on the fact the if all are high powered led's theres no reason to cheap out and but reg powered for some IMHO it looks better to have a high powered so ill be fixing that soon!!!!! i encourage all to see what right for them but i feel as if your better off going all hp led's

Lol your welcome chris just read carefully and make sure to do it in one order I dud it in three so it was way more expensive with shipping... Also put everything in your check out when ordering if it's too much for what your willing to oay come back here I'm sure there's something else that'll do just as good!!!

David-my map lights were from v-LEDs ....third post down I have the link...I love them...also no those aren't them I looked at those as an alternative but there more than and inch and a quarter wide soo I didn't like that idea since there's a chrome reflector in there..prolly won't fit. Hope I helped.

I was thinking you wouldnt even need the chrome reflector with them, but I ordered the ones from Vleds anyway. Should hopefully be much better then the WLED-x6's I have in my maps now, and then I can swap the 6's to my liscense plate.
