Chevy does this. It's in its warranty. If the dealership doesn't have a car to loan they will get you a rental car that the dealership will pay for and be reimbursed for by GM. When I worked for Thrifty car rental I occassionally took care of a desk we had in a Chevy dealership. That was how things went down.
I always get a loaner, and it is not the dealership I bought from. Last loaner was a 2011 BMW 328i as a matter of fact. They even give the Nali a quick rinse before handing her back over.
