Sorry I have not been around since April of this year, since I lost my beloved wife of 44 yrs to tragedy, it's tough but I found a lot of real people on this site, glad to be back.

Maybe what I'm looking for is not available, but must ask.

Plug and play Double Din type GPS that will plug into OEM factory Radio am/fm/tape/CD into the upper Cassette slot.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I cannot imagine pain like that.

My recommendation would be to have a new stereo installed. If you have an Android or iPhone, you can leverage the power of your phone in the stereo for navigation (those stereos are generally less expensive). Just look for stereos with CarPlay or Android Auto. Additionally it'll give you features like speakerphone and it'll read you text messages.

Thanks Adam for the info, unfortunately not an option for me. Does a unit like I want exist ? somewhere I remember reading about one. I want to use my OEM radio, just plug it into the tape slot for power.

Also sorry to hear about your wife.

A tape deck will not provide voltage to run another piece of equipment. But you could take almost any GPS, power it from the cigarette lighter and use the headphone out on the GPS to play audio through your factory cassette player, using one of these:

Is that what you're asking for?

that's somewhat I was thinking. I have an older Sony Walkman that has the same cassette adapter. I was hoping for a large screen GPS and not mess up the dash or the OEM radio.

Any suggestion as to large screen GPS ? Have seen some really cheap ones for RV/18 wheeler, but the quality. I currently have a 5" Garmin, awesome performance, just small. Thanks for info and any suggestions would be great.
