Hello,

I recently got a '07 Chevy Tahoe LTZ with a non-navigation radio/head unit. I'd like to replace the head unit with something similar to this but it does not support the A/V output.

I was wondering if anyone has had success with installing a large head-unit (larger display than standard double din) that supports CarPlay & A/V Output for the display for the second row.

Happy to hear any recommendations for a nice HU that supports the A/V display in the vehicle.

Well, would you look at that?

When I read the right forum section I can find my answer:

See a video for the massive head unit:

Was really hoping this thread was going to get a lot more input and traction of how people are upgrading their radio head units in their NNBS.

Been looking to upgrade what’s in my 2013 Escalade ESV Luxury with factory Nav and Bose.

I really like the look of some of the large vertical Android based units but have seen some mixed reviews on how well they maintain the factory functions/features. I also do not want a 13.6” unit that integrates the HVAC controls. I want a 9.7”-10.6” (whatever) that maintains the factory HVAC controls. I want a plug and play solution that maintains all factory functions, steering wheel buttons, SiriusXM, wireless CarPlay, Bluetooth audio, etc.

I have a pioneer dmh-2660nex that has apple air play Android auto and came witha back up camera and mic. Just go on Crutchfield and type you make and model in and it'll automatically find you one. Might as well buy an amp kit and at least run the red and black audio cables and remote wire while you got everything out if you're gonna put subs and an amp in just remember anything over 1kwatts you need to have 0awg ofc power wire for your amp and might as well get the kit with a 300 amp inline fuse so if in the future you wanna run more tha one am you can easily do the big 3 and not have to replace anything. 0awg because if your going to the 3rd row seats its 15' and voltage drops with longer wire, inline fuse shouldn't be more than a ft away from the positive terminal, and amp ground shouldn't be more than 2' long from the amp to the ground. Also don't let any of the components from the radio or harness touch or rest the frame rail in side your dash, you'll be changing all your electronics and harnesses in your dash then. Good luck love my 2 sundown SA 12d4s wired to 1 ohm on a 2k watt sundown class d mono block amp. And my truck is surprising quiet outside with the doos shut and windows up.
