Lasted 1-1/2 years. But really, AGAIN?

Darned Oil Pressure Sensor appears to be bad AGAIN. As the title says, I replaced it 1-1/2 years ago. It's an AC Delco too. At least I'm getting good at replacing it. NOT LOL! Why do these keep failing? Bad Quality? I verified it by Key On, Engine Off and unplugging it. It was at 80 psi and then dropped to zero. When I plugged it back in it went back to 80. PITA!!!

A little info, I discovered AC Delco Oil Pressure Sensors are made in China and Mexico. So quality has suffered. Most reputable sites or actual brick stores sell them for around $50. I found one seller on Ebay selling them for $13.95 with a 2 year warranty. Guaranteed to be AC Delco NIB. Sounds too good to be true.

That’s the GM part number. I use a seller “partscenterplus” on eBay, a GM dealer in Arizona, when I need guaranteed OEM. Pricing is usually pretty decent and free shipping.

I will only buy OEM when it comes to sensors. Usually via that seller above or from Summit. Never amazon. I’ll pay more for the confidence that it is not fake.

I bought a windshield washer sensor. Genuine GM.
Came from Ebay seller: Original Auto Parts Xpress

Shipped fast and the part came in original GM packaging.
It fit and worked as expected.

Figured I would throw that one out there, in case any of you need a backup source for genuine GM parts on Ebay...

At $56.17 that's pretty much the going rate for that just about anywhere.
