LED bulb install into halogen headlights- fuse keeps blowing

I purchased Spec D headlights assembly and the bulbs were just ugly. So I purchased 3 different types of H1 LED bulbs and no matter what it keeps blowing my fuse and doesn't work. The first also didn't fit in the housing.

I read I needed a conversion kit so with all the bulbs it had a conversion kit. The most recent purchase was a bulb only and said I would not need a relay so I was hoping it would work and it did not.

Has anyone had similar experiences and if so, how did you get the LED bulbs to work?

It's a 2013 Tahoe LTZ. The headlights are spec D halogen which takes H1 bulbs for both high and low beams.

Not to dredge up the dead, but I'm facing this issue right now. I have aftermarket headlights that worked great for a while and I noticed last week that the passenger side high beam no longer works. Diagnosting it as best as I could, I seen that the fuse instantly blows whenever I engage the high beams. Any ideas?

The truck has had SpecD aftermarket headlamp assemblies installed that are running H1 halogen filled incandescent bulbs. You’re retrofitting aftermarket LED bulbs.

07-14 do not like non factory led lamps installed in locations where HID or incandescent bulbs were originally installed.

Are you touching the bulbs with your fingers without gloves? Down the road that wil short life them.

Ultimately, just install one of the original bulbs that previously worked. If the old bulb works, you know it’s the LED replacements.

If the original incandescent bulb blows fuses, you’ve probably have a melted headlamp socket grounding out.

Does it blow a fuse with nothing lamps installed?
