i've been holding off on LEDs for my tail lights because of the backup lights, but haks' pics look bad ass- might have to reconsider

Nope, simple plug and play.

Only ones you have to worry about are the front parking/turn lamps, then you will need a electronic flasher.

How does daytime brightness compare between the oem and the led tails?

Much brighter ... There is a chick at work with a 94 dually diesel ... I might be able to get her to park next to me and snap a few pics.
