LEMON LAW SETTLEMENT REACHED!!!!! Well today was a big day. Our lawyers reached an agreement with GM regarding our lemon law case against GM. As you know in Michigan if a vehicle is out of service for repairs for 30 days or more in the first year from the purchase date you have a claim. That happened last October at 616 miles when our fuel pump control module, fuel pump and fuel tank failed and kept our rig at the dealership for 32 days. GM threw in a 6 year 75k mile warranty with 0 deductible to keep us happy but once the recalls and TSBs piled up we hired a lawyer this past January. The agreement is a cash and keep agreement. We get to keep the extended warranty and GM is still on the hook if anything else happens in the future that would trigger Michigan's lemon law again. The settlement was as follows: $4000.00 for our legal fees and the cash agreement for us was for $8000.00. So the total settlement was for $12,000 plus the $2399 extended warranty. We are happy with the settlement and think it was fair. We have decided to keep it since the rig has been operating fine since we got it back from service in November. Today it got coat number one of two of ceramic sealant by Griots Garage 3 in 1 ceramic If all goes well with our rig this next year we will use that settlement to help replace our Honda Pilot with a 2023 diesel Yukon XL or Suburban
