I have two 16" Proform fans (2500 cfm ea) with an adjustable thermostat controller. The fans turn on at whatever temp I set it to, and I also wired it to come on when the ac is turned on. I fabbed up a custom shroud and have had the setup for about three years now with no probs, and even running the engine hard with the supercharger, temps rarely ever get up above 195*. I just did a few hard runs this past weekend in near 100* ambient temps with the ac on, and coolant temps stayed under 200*. I spent under $100 total for both fans and the adj stat.

OK, let me see how bad i can mess this up: Ive read through several different threads on ebay 16'' fans. (these are what i want to install). most people have them installed independent of the ecm however i do want to install them to be controlled by the ecm via a nelson or black bear harness w/tune of course. so aren't the speeds of the fans controlled by the relays and how much (this is the part I'm going to mess up) voltage or amps are being supplied thus creating different speeds? and not necessarily weather the fan motor is one or two speeds? as far as the harness goes should only be a matter clipping the plugs off the ends of the harness and wiring them to the fan motors?

Well i've been having this mark v111 i bought and havent installed yet but i have a question, what would be better, probe or thread in??... when i was back home in CA. it wasnt much difference with clutch fan,a/c worked good but noe that i moved to VA. with this humid weather that a/c dont really do the works,i'm sure that's the reason but i think this is gonna be the best upgrade i will do.. oh yeah going with the flex-a-lite variable speed control, has anyone else tried this???

Doing the same on my 98 hoe. It is better to have the fans bolted on a shroud that covers the radiator. This ensures a more even flow over the fins; better cooling.

I have a solidworks model of the shroud I am having built for my truck. I can post a pic of it, or a layout of it if anyone is interested.
