ok, so i put a leveling kit in my 99 OBS tahoe 4door 4x4. i brought the front end up 2 inches and the rear block of 1 1/2 inches. can i fit 16x10 wheels with 285/75/16 mud tires? was told that i would have to pound the back of the wheel well in the front and screw screws in to hold it back. will the wheels and tires fit? please help with input. i already bought the wheels and tires but if i mount the tires on the wheels then i cant return them.

What leveling kit did you put on th front? I know alot of guys do the TB crank but you can only get about 1" w/o putting alot of stress on the front end....

I think I might do a TB crank just 1" just to get a more level look on the Yukon...

I also found a guy on CL selling a new Performance Accessories BL lift for $100...
Model #123, Now is that the 3" or 2" ???

you will never fit them without doing a good amount of cutting. i think. I am only running a 9 wide and i still rub and had to cut some.

I have a ready lift leveling kit and block in the rear. like i said the front end came up 2 inches and the rear 1 1/2 inches. i am going with a 16x10 wheel with toyo open country m/t 285/75/16 (33x11.5). are the rims going to be too wide to make turns? if i mount the tires on the wheels there is no return possibilities.

The 285's will fit fine, but not on those 16x10's.

As you see by the post by Landchipper (great job, btw!), the 285's aren't meant to be run on a rim more than 9" wide, the beads may/may not seat right.

I've got my 285/75/16 Yokohama's (a full 33" from the factory, BTW) on some 16x8 MB Blitz wheels, with a 25mm positive offset, and they rubbed, even after cranking my torsion bars a good 2". I maxed them out (about 2 1/2"), hammered the trailing edge of the fenders in, and cut my front bumper and lower valance for clearance. No rub.

If you use a 16x8 wheel with a factory offset (-6mm), the 285's will fit, and won't rub on the control arm, either. I think 305/70/16's might fit as well, if you want the wider tire. But 16x10's, not without some sheetmetal work.

Can you exchange the 16x10's for 16x8's?
