And as far as ground clearance goes yea 3” goes a long way. But I was referring to how far down the tire the body reaches. On your truck between the 33’s 35’s and 37’s the body (or wheel well) reaches about the same spot on the tires across the three. Where between my old 97 and the 98, the wheel well on the 97 goes about half way down the tire. Where the 98 reaches about the 1/4 mark (ish)

And your buddies race truck there is ****** nasty lookin. And I agree with ya it needs a touch more chrome to break it up a bit.

It’s been a long time since I worked on a obs I haven’t touched the blue one since it got in the yard but when I do I’m cutting the whole suspension out of it to solid axle swap it

Not that it helps, but my stock 98 sport has the same number of lift springs as your photo. Slightly cranked, it’s 36.5” to bottom of front flare and 37” to bottom of rear flare. 285/75/16 BFG AT, only rubs the LCA at hard turn. Never hits the flares or bumper.

Whatever your previous owner did for the height, I think it looks pretty good.

36.5” from where to the bottom of the front flare and 36” from where to bottom of rear flare? And I don’t think it looks bad more curious how big of tire I could get away with without going taller. It barely fits in my garage as it is

I just have the one by my name. The ones pictured were 285/75/16 but were Toyo tires I think.

From top of tire to bottom of flare is 5” in the front and 5-1/2” in the rear. Your 285/75/17 should be 1” larger diameter than mine in the 16” variety. A 285/70/17 would be more comparable diameter.

The picture of your black Sport looks most similar to my height.

Mine is down for the count right now…needs a pitman and idler arm.

This picture here looks almost identical to my old 97 (the two tone truck with the cowl hood) which only had 265/70/16’s in both clearance between the bumper/valance and tire and the back of the fender and the tire.

How do your CV angles look? I know when people crank the snot out of these the angles get extreme, but am not familiar with how a “proper” lift would work.

Kind of curious now just what you have on that, I like the stance on it.

That’s a good question. I’ll have to get a shot of it in the morning. And I didn’t even think of CV angle honestly.
