Lift with bilstein shocks?

Is your tahoe 2wd? if so you can use spindles in the front, thats what i did for 3 inches of lift. the "cushions" youre referring to are called jounce bumpers and they are an important part of the torsion bar suspension, you should replace them if they are shot. So there are many vehicles where the coil sits on top of the shock. In that case 5100s have an adjustable lower spring perch and ride height can be adjusted by the shock. I have a vehicle that is lifted this way.

Gmt800s with torsion bars (keys) CANNOT be lifted this way! The shocks are just shock absorbers and in no way can they effect ride height.

These 2 are mutually exclusive. is it AWD or 4x4? Though either way the suspension is torsion bar front.

You know you can lift the front a couple inches with stock keys right? Just put it on Jack's and tighten the adjustment bolts on the keys.

Not necessary to lift the front enough to level the truck. Just use the adjustment bolts on your stock keys
