Im running 5305 belltech coils with the belltech street performance shocks on my 2003 tahoe, I was sitting at 33 all around and loved the height but the woman desired a little more from the ride for her and the baby. Well I had some shock extenders laying around and wanted to see how it would ride so i swapped in the stock shocks with the shock extenders and now the rear is sitting at 35!

really didnt think the shocks would make much of a difference at all but the ride improved a bit but now i want it to to sit lower again? Im pretty sure I still have both the coil isolators in there now, but that would only gain me back about 1/2" right?

1/2" if your lucky, more like 1/4", they really don't add much lift, and I have mine out and rides the same, so wouldn't worry about it, just take em out. As for shocks, they shouldn't have anything to do with ride height. Your coils/springs do that, so where ever they are sitting at, shocks will also. Hope that makes sense. I don't see why adding shock extenders and back to stock shocks would raise you up, maybe it just hasn't resettled yet. Drive around for awhile and see if it settles. I have never used shock extenders, but someone should chime in with more info about it. The SP shocks in rear didn't ride good for you? You do free travel mod? I need new rear shocks, and have SP in front, and is pretty nice, was thinking about them for rear, hmm.....

I just scanned your post, but I can confirm that shocks can lift or lower your vehicle. My guess is that in your situation, your stock shocks are X" long and the Belltechs are X-3". The shock extenders probably give you anywhere from 1-1.5" of additional travel. All that together = your truck sitting higher. The easiest way to confirm this is to remove only the rear shocks and see where the truck sits.

ive driven it around for a few days and its settled back down about 1/2"-3/4" but still sitting 1 1/4" higher than before so hopefully it keeps settling. the SP shocks rode fine but i havent put airbags in and with it loaded up towing it sagged and bottomed out a lot. need to get the exhaust redone because the guy that had it before me did a dual exhaust kit and it hits the axle tube since I lowered it more

The belltechs were 20.5 fully extended and stocks were 22 fully extended, i roughly measured and the shock extenders look like they give about 1" more travel. Ill keep driving it and see if it settles more if not, pull them off real quick this weekend and see what it does
