Lifter position question

Does anybody know which way is best to position the non afm lifters oiling holes in a 2010 6.2? Up or down?

I admit, I have not opened an assembled GM v8 in many years, but I am wondering about this question. Lifters now have a choice related to oiling hole positions? Years ago lifters only worked with bottom toward the camshaft and top receiving the pushrod.

Hey RST! I am doing a lifter replacement on one side and when I removed them for cleaning and inspection I didn't look to see if the oiling holes were up or down in the housings. Tried Google but everything says front or back but mine only goes in up or down.

I’m guessing you mean facing the hood or facing the block. I’m with you now. I’m sure somebody else knows the answer.

Yeah that is what I meant. I'm just gonna put them facing the block since this is a temporary fix to get it into my garage and then a delete job is in the near future lol

GM does not prescribe it, but general consensus is to have them on the top side of the lifter.

First thing, I want to thank you all for helping me. Unfortunately the job took a turn for the worst. I have a head bolt broke off in the block. My fault for trying to go cheap before the expensive delete. That's my life lol

The brand was Enginetech. Lesson of the day for me is spend a little more and work a little less lol
