I installed the factory nav screen because my tahoe did not come with one but I would like to install a backup camera next if possible. Ive heard that it can not be done simply(without swapping the rear applique etc.) but i was wondering what my options are? i have heard that if you install the lockpick you can install a different camera? if anyone knows how i can get a backup cam on my stock screen reasonably priced Id really appreciate it. Doesnt have to be factory I have no problem just mounting it under the applique above the license plate. Thanks for the help.

I don't have lockpick yet, but I'm about to buy their new one. I've been reading up a bit so here's my understanding. With the Gen 6 you have the ability to add 1 camera. With the GMX550 (one I'm getting) you can add 4 cameras. Where you mount them is up to you.
They offer their own cameras for sale. Their model BARCAM221 would be perfect for you. It comes with plenty of cable length and mounts with the license plate bolts. Couldn't get any easier than that! It even includes night vision illumination and of course it is waterproof... all for $89.00.

So, get you a lockpick of your choice and add their $89 camera and you're golden.
