Was in a truck I had and saw something fly in front then saw a feather explosion from my grill. Looked at it a few hours later and it was a pigeon. Left it there for a few days as a trophy because it happened in a residential area so I was going slow.

Once, many years ago, I was driving home after dropping my brother off at college...it was late at night on a back road, and all of a sudden I saw about a dozen gleaming eyes in the middle of the road. It was too late to stop, but as I got closer, I realized it was a whole bunch of opposum. Then I heard the distinctive "thunk" of one of them hitting the oil pan in my mom's old Corsica.

when I was like 6-7 I was in the back seat and my mother was driving. she came around a curve (she drives slow so i'm sure it was about 55 mph) slammed on the brakes and came screeching to a halt against a COW! we barely hit it but it fell over on the hood and rolled up it and back off. it was kind of crazy to watch happen. the cow just kinda flopped around on the hood for a sec and rolled back off . it got up and took a few steps then just turned around and stared at the car lol

Cows crack me up. Not the most intelligent but are really tasty! You guys were super lucky. Good thing she wasn't going faster.

Yeah. Always been told never to stop for small animals. Not worth the risk.

I`ve had many close calls with deer but have only hit three or four birds. The only four legged animal i have ever hit was a chipmunk on my mountain bike.

Yeah, I fortuneatly haven't killed a lot of animals myself , plenty of close calls tho, especially when I used to travel 200 miles a day traveling back and forth to work .Amazing what runs out onto the road sometimes .
