guys i think yall are over reacting a bit.... we were just saying it could help in an accident.. and could keep you just a tad bit safer

If you feel the need to have a cage in your DD because of safety, how do you ever feel safe?

Race cars have cages... but race cars don't hit medians, they don't hit poles, they don't hit trees... they are subject to way different hazards than DD's are exposed to. They hit grass, gravel, tires, water barrels, other moving cars... missing anything? Drivers wear the necessary equipment to keep them safe in an accident (read: they wear full suits and helmets).

Now a DD. They are exposed to plenty of hazards race cars aren't exposed to. For this reason they have 3 point seatbelts with roofs that are MEANT TO COLLAPSE. If a body part hits a steel tube in a small accident (even a fender bender), expect some injuries. Your body hits places it shouldn't in an accident.

Darwin is facepalming right now.

Hmmmmmmmmm, I did not see anyone using the words you think you need to be using via the internet in order to get your point across.

I am sorry, I really am. You can not take any constructive input and you have to throw swear words around instead.

Well, go and get your roll cage, it will be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man just ignore all the negativity. We all just have different point of views. I also drive 146 miles daily to my work. And with a little added security I would be happy too.
So have u found a company that does the roll cages?

I don't see why you're so pissed off because you're wrong?

  1. Steel bars win when you hit them with body parts
  2. In the event of an accident, steel bars add time to making a rescue
  3. You'll lose backseat space to put the tubes in behind the front seats
  4. You're making a rollover prone vehicle more prone to rollover by adding hundreds of pounds of tubing to the top of the car
  5. For this to even make sense you'll need new seats to retrofit your 5 point harness in and a helmet to wear whenever you drive

I just gave you all the info you'll need. I don't understand why you're so mad the roof crumpled in your rollover like it was designed to do?

This thread is almost 5 years old :) I highly doubt the OP went through and installed a cage.
