Looking to buy a tahoe.Is it worth it?

Im looking at buying a 01 tahoe lt.Its really been takin care of but theres a rattle in the dash..sounds like a metal plate on the drivers side and a rattle on the passenger side.its sunfire metallic and has 66k and hes firm at 9200.No rust on body and is one owner.Everyting checks out but the rattles were overwhelming.are tahoes rattle boxes?I hate rattles!This truck is so beautiful!

if the door panel is rattling, good chance its the window regulator..

good mileage, but its a base truck (LT is loaded)....I would talk him down to $8k

im sorry i meant lt.its fully loaded......sounds like the rattle is on the instument cluster!

thanks for fast reply,I dont think this guy is gonna budge.I guess he just spent 700 dollers on the abs system.I drove 3 hours to look at it to find out theres a lean on it and he needs to get a lean relase.Its the 5.3 liter.Besides the rattle there was a squeek near the alternator,kept going off and didnt subside.Took to mechanic and he sprayed the idler pully with some belt spray and the noise stopped.It then after a min kicked up 10X louder and really didnt leave me feeling confident.

An LS is the lowest model you can get so I don't see how it's "loaded". I would try to find an LT if I were you especially at that price!

hey felix it is indeed a lt.I changed my original post!check the link I posted to see truck.In ny everything is rusted and this one has a clean body.Not even a ding that I could see.The underside looked pretty damn weathered too I thought that was worth mentioning!

sounds like a bad bearing in the idler pulley. that shouldn't be that big of a deal. looks like a clean truck. around me, he would get that price for sure with low mileage like that.

how does the undercarriage look? any rust?

Seriously low mileage for that year. In general, it's a beast of a truck, and that one looks great from the pics. You'll definitely get you money's worth. I've got that same year Yukon SLT with 160K on it. I've owned it since 2001. Just switched to synthetic and tuned her up. Never had an issue... not one. And women wonder why we love our trucks.
