Son's 2017 Sierra with the 5.3 6l80 transmission just took a dump, usual deal torque converter. Looking at $5000 or so for repair at minimum. He's never towed or abused it, watches the trans temp most of the time when it could be running hot, never seen over 185 degrees or so. I'd recommend anyone out of warranty with one of these vehicles replace the torque converter at 75k miles or so and kill that AFM - now.
