Loose "shift" feeling in LF seat when turning

Hey everybody
I see there are a couple of threads where I can post this reply and my experience with the same or similar problem.
I purchased a 2016 Tahoe ltz a few months ago and from the very first day... anytime anybody sat in the passengers seat.. it sounded and felt like it wasn't bolted down all the way.
I finally called the dealer yesterday and mentioned the problem... he sounded well aware of it.. and immediately said. yes.. there is a shim kit... that is in stock for this very issue.
I brought the truck in this morning.. they installed the said "shim kit".. and washed the truck and I was out of there in an hour.
so far... all is good and of course.. will post more should there be any issues.

Just wanted to share my experience and hope it helps others.
This forum is a fantastic wealth of information and has helped me sooo much with past issues with my 2005 Tahoe z71 that was just sold after 271,000 enjoyable kms that I put on it.

Continuation.....I have now had my Tahoe back to the dealer for this repair and "update" for installing the shims.
The first time.. I took it in.. they apparently knew right away it needed the shims and were confident the problem would be solved.
Apparently.. they did not fix it.
I was contacted by the service dept asking how the repair went... and told them it had not been fixed and they informed me .. they did the fix on the DRIVERS seat.....and I had informed them.. it was the PASSENGER seat that had the issue.
I returned again about a week or so later... and they were to fix the passenger seat...
I have the truck back.. and the passenger seat is still making the same noise.
I will give them one more try... after that.. i'll just fix it myself with the hose clamps and let them know how disappointed I am.. that they can't fix a problem that others are fixing on their own with simple hose clamps.

I will update this thread again after I return for my third try on the repair with the dealer.

Just bought a 16 GMC Yukon XL SLT, 1K miles on it so far and the drivers seat doing the same thing as the previous posts. Have to take in for the air bag recall, now it will be two things the dealer has to fix. I'll post what work the dealership does and see if it was fixed.

we had the seat TSB done on our 15 yukon a few months ago and so far so good. Need to have steering wheel tick/click tsb done next time it's in for service.

Does this shifting feeling sound like an object sliding back and forth and impacting, making a thump (under the seat) when making turns?

I had the same issue with mine and it was really annoying. I saw a fix on this thread with some heater hose and three hose clamps. I decided to give it a try and it solved the problem. Cost was about $7 total. Thank you!!

Just got my Yukon XL back from dealer service dept, they claim the seat cushion was coming off the seat rail. This caused the seat to shift or move, so they removed the seat cushion and had it reinstalled with new clips. I know this was not the problem to the seat, going to wait till problem gets worse before I take back to dealer.

That's it! I was able to put my hand on those white clips and you can feel the shift in the clip when you feel it in the seat. I bought a foot piece of 1" heater hose, slit it in half, slid it up against the white clips and then put hose clamps over them. Good to go!

I am not at all shocked by this, my seat has been driving me insane from the day I bought it with 30k miles on it last year. I'm going to the dealer on Tuesday and now may not do so and try this fix because I can't trust the dealer will have "my best interests" at hand and I'm just slightly out of warranty now.

Well,stupidly I tried the dealer route while it was in for something else. All it got me was a broken rear cover of the drivers seat, and the clunk is still there. They don't know how to fix it. It even makes them madder when you mention you learned something on the forums.

I did get a new dash board though as mine had a hole in it by the airbag the size of a finish nail hole. How it got out of the factory like that, I'll never understand but at least now you can hardly see the airbag border in the dash. They damaged the finish on the glove box and trim piece in between replacing the dash. Those are now new too.

I was just lambasted by the GM of the service department at McCarthy Auto in **** Rapids MN when I told him about this thread, scheduled an appointment for 4 days from now. Second guessing it and want to try the hose clamp option, however I don't have the time to do it myself, there's a reason I can afford an overpriced vehicle and it's not because I'm lucky...

YOU ARE A GENIUS!!!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS!!! I DID IT AND IT FIXED MY ISSUE!!! I CALLED TO CANCEL AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HUNG UP ON ME! LOL LOL LOL THEY GOT MAD AT ME WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT I CAME TO THIS THREAD TO INVESTIGATE AND THEN I GOT VERY UNEASY ABOUT TAKING THE TRUCK IN ON WEDNESDAY OF THIS WEEK, NO NEED TO SPEND WHAT WOULD/COULD HAVE BEEN A COUPLE HUNDRED (IF NOT MORE) DOLLARS TO LINE THEIR POCKETS... GMC DOES IT AGAIN.....
