hey so i just bought a 97 2 door tahoe and just about nothing works in the interior that i need.
things that do work:
-wipers work only on high
-rear wiper works
-door lock switch works on passenger door
-power window wants to go up but not down on passenger side
-all interior lights work
-all power seat buttons work on drivers seat
-the head unit/deck/stereo comes on (its a kenwood kvt-696 touchscreen)
-rear hatch will open if you hold the button while someone opens the hatch
-heat works

things that dont work/need work:
-wipers dont work on any other speed but high
-front and rear wiper squirters don't work but you can hear the pump running when you hit the button for the rear
-passenger side window doesn't wanna go down and makes no attempt at it
-driver side needs power window/door lock switch
-the radio/speakers. its got a thousand dollar deck that turns on and works great and plays music but no sound comes from the speakers. when i looked at the truck before i bought it, the kid had a sub, 2 amps, and a capacitor in it and sound came out of the speakers. when i bought it, he took the sub, amps, and capacitor out and now sound doesn't come out of the door speakers... the door speakers in it now say 200w on the back of them. any ideas? all fuses are good, and i haven't looked at anything with a test light. any help would be appreciated right now.

i have the same head unit. the owner was likely using the preamp outputs to feed the amp then speakers. if you want to run them using the head unit built in amp you will have to remove the units sleeve to locate the speaker outputs from the stereo and either find the wires from the amp and extend them to the dash, splice into existing factory wiring for radio for which the wiring in the doors are likely still there and splice them together or you can get an amp to put in place of the one that was removed.
