thats odd. hid need more power so you should be dimming just as much as you were.. but hey its a good thing for you.
take care of your big 3 and perhaps buy a high amp alt. they're rather cheap on ebay (under $250) great price for 220+ amp alt

HID use more amperage to fire but equal or less after they ignite.. if they used alot more amperage then they wouldnt be plug n play because they would need a larger fuse.. most hid kits us less amperage than halogen AFTER warm up.. so this might be part of his low voltage spike solution..

But i agree... +1 to not needing more than a big 3 for his amp draw.. and his battery possibly being a crap battery from the start

HID's power is kept constant, at least in theory, by the ballasts, so this makes sense.

ok so I did my Big 3 Upgrade w/4 gauge wire i had left over form my amp install, and my voltage increased verry little, my thoughts are that i dont have a good ground in the bellow pics youll see my grounds....

Pic 1 is my alt to positive terminal

Pic 2 is my Ground to engine block... My main concern is that its not a good ground.

Pic 3 is my ground to chassis which dosent bother me much.

I put my Ground to engine block in the same spot but put it under the plastic piece with a washer in between. I don't know if it would make any difference for you but i sanded the area to make sure it was a solid ground and also ran tests at both ends of the wire to make sure I was getting a ground. I also used a separate grounding point on the chassis for the the engine block.

After doing the big 3 my voltage was increased very very little if any. So maybe I did it wrong as well

The silver wire is the Engine block to Chassis.

Im running a keenwood kac-7204 2 chan. @ 2ohms. i think its 250rms per chan.
Bass boost is set to the middle and bass on radio is set to +4. Im also running stock 135Amp alt and stock battery.

that's your problem. you are asking for about 3x more signal output with those setting s so high.

turn bass boost off. Stop asking for 4x output and sending a clipped signal, or making one via multiple gains (amp gain, bass boost, and bass +4 are ALL gains)

that will reduce your current demands significantly with only a moderate if even noticeable reduction in output.
:hands:

If you need more power, get a bigger amp, and don't try to band-aid it by overdriving the existing amp.
