The good, the bad and the Ugly.

I wouldn't listen to anyone on the internet that would tell me that you can just ignore lights and gauges when warning lights appear and to just keep driving it.

I'm not quite sure if the sensor is in the tank on the radiator or if it is built into the resivour. But either way, it isn't all that much to change. As I always say - you are there and I am here.

Change the sensor and then come back and tell us if it fixed the problem or not.

I worked on a Caddillac one time that had the same problem and it was not the sensor. We ended up driving it through the auction and let the next owner fix it. I would find out what the problem is - before it becomes a bigger problem.

I was always really lucky that I had enough mechanical problems with my 1999 - 2002 vehicles that the coolant was changed more then necessary and that I never had to put a water pump on one - out along the road someplace.

It's a bear of a job - even though everything is right out front.

I didn't notice a puddle for 2 weeks, just happened to look at the front of the truck just after I parked it and notice it was dripping out of the corner of my eye!! Yep, out of the weep hole in the bottom, if it's a stock pump that is (my replacement didn't have the weep!)

You would be suprised, one of the easiest water pump replacements I have ever done, took only 1 hour with the right tools and that was taking my time!

Yet another case of the internet being good for lots of things EXCEPT sarcastic humor........

I was KIDDING.

you might have air in the radiator
park with the front end on a curp so its elevated and run your truck with the cap off and it should "burp" it, could also be your radiator cap, if it leaks you'll hear air going through it and you should buy a replacement.
