Yup the "brand new" old one! And it was an ac delco. I sat there and watched them the whole time.

When my ECM went out I thought it was fuel pump/filter related. Truth be told, both times my fuel pump and filter went out it was pretty much "worked then it didn't." When my ECM went bad it was a long torturous process. I mean performance and idle gradually became worse.

the ECM isn't cheap but is fairly easy to replace. Not worth paying shop time.

So the ECM programs itself in your world? You can replace an ECM but without it programmed to your VIN, it wont run.

Second pumps been running fine I just changed my fuel pressure regulator and the vacuum line that goes to it. Vacuum lines was all worn out. I'm going to be turning the motor soon so i just want things running smooth

Make sure that regulator doesn't buzz. I bought the more expensive AC Delco one and it buzzed. Switched to the cheaper BWD branded one and it was fine. Again all new parts.

ok she's been running fine the last couple weeks. But it happens again no start. Checked the shraeder valve on the fuel rail and nothing came out. Couldn't do anything about it. So I took my car. Got up this morning went out to check her and she started right up. Driving me nuts now

Fuel pump relay? Try swapping it with the horn relay. Could have a poor connection in the relay. Or could be even deeper and be the Ignition switch. One or two legs in switch could be making poor/no contact.

Swapped relays. Need to see if it's getting juice to the pump. But she's been starting up fine all day.
