When my ECM went out I thought it was fuel pump/filter related. Truth be told, both times my fuel pump and filter went out it was pretty much "worked then it didn't." When my ECM went bad it was a long torturous process. I mean performance and idle gradually became worse.
the ECM isn't cheap but is fairly easy to replace. Not worth paying shop time.
Make sure that regulator doesn't buzz. I bought the more expensive AC Delco one and it buzzed. Switched to the cheaper BWD branded one and it was fine. Again all new parts.Second pumps been running fine I just changed my fuel pressure regulator and the vacuum line that goes to it. Vacuum lines was all worn out. I'm going to be turning the motor soon so i just want things running smooth
