Ok guys so I don't know if I just noticed this or what but I thought my truck always idled at about 38-40psi and rises obviously to about 60 psi at WOT. But lately I've been paying attention on these last 100 degree days and noticed that when warm at idle I'm about 20-23 psi at 210 degrees. At 50mph 1500 rpms I'm at 35psi. At WOT I'm at 45psi Maby 50. Now I changed my oil last 1000 miles ago with mobile 1 synthetic 5w30 no additives with a Bosch filter. The filter was my first suspect so I swapped it today for a wixx. No change and yes I topped off the oil after the filter changed and my oil level is perfect. No engine light or noise. The owners manual says nothing about what normal pressure is. I'm worried that I now have lower oil pressure and I don't know what could suddenly cause this. I mean weather it's 60 degrees out or 100 how much difference in oil pressure can there be if the motor only ever gets to 210 degrees. What do you guys run at. Oh and the truck has 33k on it I'm the first owner and have ALWAYS changed the oil every 3-5k with the above mentioned oil and usually fram filters. Should I bring it to a dealer and have them check it out? I don't want to spin a bearing not saying I will now but if it drops lower then 20psi at idle I'm really going to worry thanks guys

Even at idle warm? Because I'm curious to know what other idle warm pressure is. I've been doing some recon online and came up with this, I guess between 07 and current models the oil pressures were dropped to help save gas. Also saw on a Sierra silver ado forum the spec is minimum 6 psi at 1000 rpm. I don't know how true that is tho

I've been in 100+ weather on the highway on a roadtrip and been in the 30's cruising. Not sure what it was when stopped for gas.

Don't kid yourself, all the dealer is going to say is "oh no that's normal" until something happens and you're out of a truck for a while.

Put an original equipment GM filter back on it and see what happens.

I use Bosch exclusively on my 07 and 04 and I've never had a problem. I use Wix on all of my customers cars and I've never had a problem with those either.

Fram filters are about the worst filters that you can buy.

The best thing to do is to get someone to hook up a mechanical gauge to confirm whether or not the dash gauge is reading correctly.

Well guess I'll find out Tuesday when I bring it in for my appointment since my 3 year 36 k warranty is up in 2k so it can't hurt. At least it will be documented just incasetheres a loop hole they can use when I'm in my 5 year 100 k warranty
