2007 Z71

Hi All,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find an actual answer anywhere. Got pulled over and cop told me both my lower brake lights don't come on but 3rd brake light works along with my normal lit tail lights. Turn signals and hazards work. Cruise control works.

1. I keep reading about a circuit junction plate but it seems to be for everything prior to my 2007 Z71. I quickly crawled underneath, but see nothing. Maybe above the spare?
2. Is there a fuse I don't know about. Checked both side and under-hood boxes. Is there maybe a relay in the underhood? Or other fuse?
3. All wires to the factory tow hitch seem completely fine.
4. I will try and clean up the ground wire but seeing im getting power, i assume it is okay.
5. Is there another type of junction I may not know of. A harness where they all come together.

Thanks for any help or if someone knows an idea that actually worked for someone.

Signal wire from bcm under dash sends light power. Will try to tell you PIN number later to check

You didn't install LED's in the front turn signals by chance did you? I did that on my '02 Denali and that's exactly what happened. I had to install load resistors between front turn signal positive and ground wires.

Well I felt a bit dumb after figuring it out. Mine ended up being BOTH bulbs being bad on my lower tail lights. They looked fine and i didn't assume they would blow at the same time. Hopefully you have the same simple fix.

Electrical shit has a way of making us all look dumb at one time or another. Nothing to be ashamed of. What were the odds of both bulbs being burned out?

The part I left out was it was the dealer down the street that figured it out. A nice $30 bulb replacement. Though we all had a good laugh.
