Lowered Tahoe takes bumps in rear too hard

I have a 2/3 drop on my 2010 Tahoe and I’ve never liked how the rear takes bumps. I have the belltech kit and the street shocks and struts that came with it. Should I switch to some new rear shocks? If so, which do you recommend? Any other recommendations will be appreciated.

Did you remove the rear bump stop and its frame bracket (the "Free Travel Mod")?

Which model# rear shocks are you running? I was using belltech 2414ff with the belltech drop shock extenders, switch to 2410ff, djm rk2007, and did free travel mod. Made a big difference

With a 3" drop I wouldn't think you'd need the free travel mod- you would know if it's hitting the bump stops. Bilstein 4600's are probably the best shocks for lowered Tahoes. And you need shock extenders if you don't have them since you lose travel on your shocks and they might be bottoming out.

Free travel mod isn't totally necessary but every bit of travel you can get will help. Plus its basically free

I did do the free travel mod and I’ll have to find out which shocks I’m using. Toney NorcalSS set me up with the kit.

I want to say yes, but I’ll check later today. It’s been a while since I lowered it.

Yes it has the shock extenders. In my opinion, I think the springs are bottoming out. The shocks have plenty of travel left.

I kind of doubt it with a 3" drop. Do you have pictures of the springs with the truck on the ground so we can look for binding?
