I'm looking to drop my 99 4dr 2wd tahoe on stock 15's. I'm interested in the Belltech 3/4 I think it is because I was reading that it wont affect the way it rides. Is this true? How much would a complete kit be? How hard is it to install? Would I need to do anything with the alignment? I've done some searching but mainly find stuff on the newer tahoes. Thanks.

Being the front uses dropped springs there is a very slight addsd stiffness. I dropped mine months ago. I did djm 4,4. Netted almost 6" drop.

Did you have to have an alignment? Any rubbing issues? Does it ride good? Thanks.

My opinion is that it rides almost the same. With the stiffer springs on the front because they are shorter you get a slight difference in ride. With a 2dr like mine the ride stock was not the best. I like it better with the drop its stiffer. The rear is the same factory suspension.

If you do this there are a lot areas that have to be addressed as far as clearance. Get ready to use a cut off wheel, Makita 5 1/2"! Is the easiest tool to make those adjustments. Cross tunnel under drive shaft about mid way under truck. Cross body support over the rear end, it bottomed out on top of the diff.

I did the flip kit in rear with the DJM notch. You have to cut the frame to make this fit. You also have to cut the front shackle mount off for the front mount of the leaf springs. Front is straight swap parts. Job took me bymyself 6 hrs of work. I had to order a leveling rear shackle, brought the rear up an inch. I did not like the stance with front higher than rear.

Yes new alignment!

is yoru truck 2wd or 4wd?

before you do anyting measure the truck because many times they sit even and with a 3/4 drop rear sits lowr than front.

NorCal,
Hah, he's looking to drop his 99 4dr 2wd tahoe on stock 15's. First line of his post ;) . Hows the V coming along? Thats a bad ass car.

One thing never mentioned or not as often as it should be is, shocks. You need to find a quality shock.
I dropped mine with a BT 5/7 and it drove like junk. Worse than stock. I have Bilstein shocks on it now, they supposedly are for my lowered application. These are the same ones for the stock height. I find it hard to beleive that they are but, thats what there customer service line said. So, I left them on for now. I plan on upgrading in the future.

Like said, make sure you have notched and clearanced everything that needs it or it will be a rough ride. Not sure if its the same as a 2dr but I have some pics if you need to get an idea of what needs to be notched.

V ran 11.3@94 on the brakes i got booted going to have to cage it to race it.

the djm coils ride better than the belltechs over the past 17 years same is on the s10s.

Main thing he needs to do is measure the truck. Lots of times a 3/3 drop will be perfect and with a 3 inch drop in rear and djm shocks wiht the short bumpstops its good.
