I have read online that the LS1 intake will fit on a 5.3L I found this one on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-...rQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories#ht_500wt_1182

It is off of an corvette.. will that work on my 5.3L and if so, will it give me any more power? It is fly-by-wire, which is what mine is

I have been debating having my throttle body ported and polished.. I had a 2500HD with a 6.0 and the port and polish made a big difference on that.. so i don't see why it wouldn't on my yukon.

Its most likely getting a cam soon as well, along with a BB tune. Any opinions if the LS1 intake is a worth while upgrade?? Its at $80.. which is less than a port and polish on the throttle body..

Also, is this throttle body the same as mine? If its bigger, will the fly-by-wire still work?? Thanks

it'll fit the motor yes, but not the water pump or the current routing of the belt. (the throttle body is to low) however there are couple of ways around it . ls1truck.com or performancetrucks.net are great sites with this kind of info. it would definitely look better but i dont think it will perform better at least not for a truck. as far as the throttle body i think what you have to check is the bolt pattern 3 or 4 not necessarily weather its dbw. it didn't look like it had fuel rails with it either, witch I'm pretty sure corvettes have a return-less fuel system and i dont know about an 04 but my 03 does not. there probably more but that's a start.

Unless your heavly modded or have a good size converter the loss of tq in low rpms will out weigh the power you gain at 5500rpm..Plus you have to change the front acc's..
You would be better off going with an intake off a tbss or 07 up 4.8-6.0..

Well that sucks. My friend just bought a Z28 and was telling me he would give me his LS1 intake since he has other mod plans for his Z.

The truck intakes perform alot better then you think. They make more power down low and you need that. A ls1 intake looks cooler but your are not gaining the kind of power you want in a heavy suv.
