I picked up some Kooks longtube headers off Craigs List in Minneapolis real cheap. They are made for the 2004-2006 GTO (LS2). It looks like they might fit. Here are my concerns:

  • Front primary on driver side may hit steering shaft
  • LM7 = LS1 = LS2 exhaust manifold bolt pattern? (I think yes.)
  • Collectors will be someplace where I can attache O/R X-pipe.
  • Need true dual exhaust.

This might be impossible, but I don't mind taking a shot at it. Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks,:)

Hope you got those KOOKS real cheap and if so, HOW? and fitting on the tahoe, give it a shot, mock up and go from there. The rest is easy for exhaust.

$100. That's why I bought them. Passenger side has some repaired spots. Driver side is flawless.

I have a set of Kooks LT on my 03 SVT Cobra. With the O/R X-pipe and Borla Cat-Back they made a noticeable difference in performance. (410hp/410TQ on a DynoJet).

I figure I'll give this a try...

Head flange wise you are good.... The rest I wish I had an answer for ya. I personally woudnt do a dual exhaust, I'd modify the Y-pipe to make it work. Just me though. Good Luck with it!

clearance around the stearing would be my main concern,

good luck.

lol seems we have the same rides. My GTO only gets me in trouble though hehe..

The should clear the steering shaft since the GTO engine bay is pretty narrow. The angle where they meet the collector may be the bigger issue.

If those headers don't work out. lmk, I have a home for them lol!

Too much trouble.

The collectors were not really long enough or at the correct angle for the Tahoe.

Decided to wait and look for a set of Kooks that are made for the NBS truck.
