Has anyone done an LS3 conversion to their tahoe? ive noticed some guys do a LS7 conversion, but i dont have the money to buy a new LS7 now, but i could get a LS3 at a great price. its been in my head and ive just wondered what any issues anyones run into doing it and how they like it so far.

You're referring to putting a 6.2L into your Tahoe? Been done plenty of times. Performancetrucks.net.

on here? more than likely not, I have yet to see it done on a NNBS SUV on this forum. But there have been plenty of folks on pt.net who have done this swap into NNBS/GMT900 platforms. I can't say I've seen more than one LS7 transplant in a tahoe, but that one I did see was on ebay. I've seen alot of LSX427 swaps into trucks and I think one suburban.

How much different is the ls3 from the 6.2 that's already found in tahoe's eacalades and denali's?

Same block. The LS3 has slightly higher compression and a more aggressive cam, and does not have AFM.

but you could do a l99 if you want afm.

i found some great deals on new ls3 motors. anywhere from 7-8K. any idea what a 5.3 with less than 15K on it is worth?

$1000?

$7-8k seems awfully high. I'd rather get a takeout 6.2 out of an escalade for $3000-4000.

7-8k is low for a brand new gm crate 6.2. and 1000 bucks?! come on..... its not a worn out 3.6 with 100k on it. ive seen 6.0 with 100+k on them go for 3500.
