7-8k is low for a brand new gm crate 6.2. and 1000 bucks?! come on..... its not a worn out 3.6 with 100k on it. ive seen 6.0 with 100+k on them go for 3500.

Check out performancetrucks.net. 6L all the time on there for $1000-2000. Even a few built 408s for $5-6k.

Sorry you didn't like the reply. You asked, I answered. :(

$1000?

$7-8k seems awfully high. I'd rather get a takeout 6.2 out of an escalade for $3000-4000.

+1 Both of those price ranges are about in line with what I've seen. And I would much rather have a low mile takeout for half the price and have $4k left for cam, turbo, headers, tune, etc.

And for the price of an LS7 longblock, you could build a serious 408 with a front mount that would run circles around the LS7 as well as have money left over for the built transmission.

im not really one to buy used unless its in my plow truck. for my daily driver, i would want nothing but the best. and having a reamining warranty with a gm crate motor is worth more to me than a turbo or supercharger.. if i wanted a turbo/ supercharger, id just spend the 7k and throw it on the 5.3.

Usually completely new.

I had a 15k 6.2L out of an Escalade with the wiring harness and 2WD 6L80 for $3500.00 for sale about a month ago.

Probably just easier and more reliable to go ahead and sell the Tahoe in lieu of swapping the motor and get a Denali or Escalade. Atleast then you'd get the 5yr/100k warranty and it's brand new.

Nah. I just got the Tahoe. Could have gotten an escalade. Dont like the look of denalis. I love the look of the Tahoe over escalade or Denali. Not to mention I didn't want awd. I had a hummer that had it and wanted a change. I just want a rwd, optional 4wd Tahoe with escalade power.

Do you come across 6.2 motors often?

Not brand new ones like you are looking for.

Escalades are available in 2WD, but not with optional 4WD.

I know it's already too late since you already have your truck, but there are non AWD 6.2 Tahoes (mostly 2009) in both 2wd and 4wd.

Basically what you're talking about is converting your truck into one of those. It'd still be cheaper and simpler to trade yours in for one of them.

I've seen 2wd ones. I need 4wd in Ohio. I've had an escalade before. Just wanted something different that I could kinda turn into a Tahoe ss. So I'm doing upgrades to make my own sporty full size suv

I've searched for some but didn't find any with low miles or remaining warranty. And I wanted warranty.
