I bought a magnaflow muffler the other day and had an exhaust shop to put it on for me. The muffler is 2.5 dual/dual. It has a built in x pipe in it. the reason i bought it was to get a little bit of performance and let it flow. This is my first suv, i have always had trucks or cars. The muffler is a lot louder then the magnaflows i have had on previous vehicles. My question is can i just put a glasspack/resonator in. Will that be noticeable quieter or not. Thanks for the imput

Is it too loud audibly, or is it just resonating like a mother?

i guess its just resonating real loud. like i said if it was a truck the noise would be outside. i do mostly city driving stop to stop. its quiet while cruising and actually quieter full throttle then just stopping and going

I would recommend installing Magnaflow 12866 5" round mufflers as resonators before each inlet pipe to the muffler. This will reduce the overall sound and drone you're experiencing. The more vibration you can soak up before that perforated X pipe muffler the better. At that point though it might be cheaper to try again with a different muffler.

Let us know if we can be of any assistance, below is the link for the 12866. Use the code MF15 for special forum pricing on Magnaflow.
