does the 5.3 have same piping as the 6.2?

I've got an early early 2015 (April 2014 build) that I'm about to put the 12909 onto. Obviously I'm going to crawl under and do measuring before purchasing anything, but would be nice to do some homework before I get home tonight.

Luckily can weld in myself

6.2 is 3.5"
5.3 is 3"

I did this 12909 muffler on my 16 and loved it but also tuned out the V4 option. I now have an 18 and want the same sound but how does it sound when it kicks into V4. I don’t want to give up the 25 mpg highway I’ve been getting with it.

I'm about ready to install the Mag 12909 and debating on whether to remove the flapper completely or leave it on and just keep it pinned open. Is there a noticeable difference in sound or performance by just keeping the flapper on and pinned instead of removing?

Well, if you leave it in place- if you don't like the sound and/or it's too loud, then you can re-engage the flapper.

That said, no matter what, it is providing "some" restriction. How much and what effect is debatable.
