Magnoflowin' the Tahoe. DONE!

This should all be arriving this week to replace the original plugged up and tired stuff on the Tahoe. Found an absolute fantastic deal that I couldn't pass up.

Have to locate the new 02 sensors I bought (and misplaced) a while ago and pick up new oem style rubber hangers and I'll get it all installed. I can't wait to get rid of those stock plugged and stinking converters.

Key bit of information to save money...

That converter assembly is NOT the typical Magnaflow 45453. It's the model 23453. The 45453 is the only front converter assembly Magnaflow is making today, it's more restrictive for California emissions, a 50 state pipe.

The 23453, which is still in stock with some retailers, is the 49 state model and has less intensive catalysts, otherwise identical dimensionally. Magnaflow stopped making the 23453 to consolidate production for Tahoes as old as our OBS models. I called Magnaflow to verify this.

The cat-back exhaust is the normal model 15701 system.

That 23453 converter system was $275.00 including shipping.
The 15701 cat-back system was $415.00 including shipping.

unknown at this time.
good to now for those outside Cali. Magnaflow must have taking it off it online catalog cause it still show 45453 in the catalog for cali or non Cali. It will show up if you use the part number. Must be filtering by ip address.

Strike One.

Local import car dealership where some friends work is where I take the Tahoe for work I can't do on my own. Real fair pricing on labor (tech who exclusively works on my Tahoe was raised in a Chevy dealership), I bring in my own parts, etc. Today was the day.

After soaking the 3 manifold flange bolts on each side for hours with penetrating oil, they just aren't going to budge without an almost guaranteed result of them breaking off. They aren't prepared to drill or torch out manifolds, etc.....they waved the white flag instead of doing any damage. Good for their honesty, it's why I go there.

Made contact with a local independent muffler shop, referred by my friend at the dealership and he said it shouldn't be an issue...he deals with problems like that almost daily. So this is my go-to guy for the installation maybe later this week or early next week, depending on if and how severe the snow storm that's supposed to hit tomorrow day is.

When my 'Hoe was done, he ended up fabbing the whole exhaust, from behind the header, into a single magnaflow cat, and on to the magnaflow muffler. A lot of work, but it sounds great now
