I will have to wait on the premium pads and rotors as well. Just use a premium pad and you will not be sorry. I used WearEver Gold pads from Advance Auto and had the rotors turned as they still had a lot of life left in them. Between that and adjusting up the drums in back my truck stops great now.

Ok guys, I ordered my Volant CAI yesterday. I went with the more expensive dry filter set up with the box. Should be here early next week. Gonna be a busy one coming up with replacing all the breaks, shocks, and the CAI!!

Did a brake job on rear axle. All original inside from 1996 right down to the nails. Shoes were polished and not much wear in the drums. Both wheel cylinders were leaking a bit. Replaced shoes, springs and both wheel cylinders. Cleaned all up. Bled the lines, good to go. Bilstein delivery now delayed till the 26th. That sucks!

The volant has been in nearly a week. I have to say the set used to hold down the intake tube to the tbi sucks. But I've whined about that. Far as performance, it really woke up the 15 year old motor. Granted it only has 50k miles on it. Idle is noticeably smoother; acceleration from idle much smoother. Overall power very noticeable. Gas mileage yet to be charted. Ran my first tank of gas through it but forgot to jot down miles. I notice I tromp on the gas pedal more now as the hoe is quite a bit more peppy. Have a road trip starting tomorrow so will be real test on highway performance.

The Bilstein HDs have arrived. Tomorrow they're going on. Will see what kind of difference they make over the 15 year old factory shocks that are on the Hoe now.

Ok guys, the Bilstein HDs are in as of yesterday morning. Definetly firmed up the suspension. I'm so used to my 2007 Suburban and the Avalanche before that one, that I forget how a short wheel base (relatively speaking) is bouncy. Of course having the LT Goodyear Silent Armors doesn't make for a real smooth ride.

Next up - fender flares and running boards. Found a web site that had a very good looking and quality pre-painted board.
