Just wanted to say thanks for all the info on this forum - one tidbit just saved my engine's life. Took the 'Burb in for a 7500 mile oil change so my mechanic could also, because of the info gleaned from a couple of threads on this forum, change out the oil pressure sensor filter. He's a sharp guy and he's been keeping my vehicles on the road for about 25 years now. So I listen and learn. He's able to remove and replace the sensor and filter without taking the intake off the engine, which saves folks like me a lot of money.
Anyway, he went to replace the filter for me and as I was standing next to the truck chatting with him, he was like "this thing is barely screwed in. I'm loosening it by hand." There were two or three threads between me and the sensor blowing off the engine.
If I hadn't decided to look into the possibility of a clogged filter (it wasn't), I'd have never known about the new motor that was about to happen at an inopportune moment. Mind you, I'm Jonesin' for a 6.0 conversion but I'd prefer not to do that just yet, so big thanks from someone who doesn't say a whole lot on here but who does pay attention.
