3.73 was the biggest option gear ratio but with that you can do 6500 hundred pounds of total trailers weight if 4wd drive-train. 2wd setup up will get you 500 more pounds. tongue weight of no more then 10% of trailer and do not let that and internal cargo exceed GVW rating on door sticker. Must have the oil cooler and trailer brakes installed to do anything over a 1 ton trailer. Anything over 2 tons require sway controls. If the tranny get shift happy take it out of overdrive. There should be wiring provisions for a trailer power supply and brake control in addition to lighting power wires.

ok thanks sun as complicated as that looks to read it actually helps me

out lol . . . but i don't understand wy would i get 500 more if it was just

a 2 wheel drive . . . if you don't care to answer

Do you know for sure there is a brake controller?

The with the short wheelbase, 6" lift, 35s, and stock brakes. I would only tow around 2500lbs. If there was a brake controller I would say around 5000.

Either way you can't tow 10,500lbs with it.

lol i already knew there was no way to pull that man even if i could pull that

i would not be able to keep gas in it . . . but im pretty sure its a trailer

brake controll plug man its your originall plug that you plug into say a

boat trailer or any little trailer with tail lights and then that plugs into a

bigger plug that ends up being i think an 8 prong instead of 4 prong

i may be wrong on the amount of prongs but im pretty sure thats how

it was . . . like i said i ain got my hoe right now or else id look reall quick
and be sure

the reason i ask is because i seen shipping wars last night and found out about

u ship . . . so i figured i could get on there and tow some boats or live stock to where

they need to go since i love to drive my truck and love to sight see and on top of it

get paid for it lol . . . so i was wanting a rough estimate of what my max load should
be . . . . . . thanks for answers

4wd weighs more. Also, say for example you are camping and your truck is packed full of stuff you have to factor that into the tow rating and minus the weight added. The tow rating is measured empty.

The connector on the truck is a straight 4 pin then there is an adapter to a round 7 pin? If that is true there is no brake controller...

Your truck could TOW 10500lbs no problem, but it won't be able to stop or control it. Stock brakes with 35s and no trailer brakes is very dangerous with a short vehicle like yours. If you stomped on the brakes the trailer would push you into a jack knife very easily.

If you wish to tow with your tahoe I highly advise to install a brake controller and always use a trailer with trailer brakes. Also, it would help to have 3/4 ton brakes, hydroboost, and 4.88 gears.

the wire provisions are there but you would have to provide the 7 wire connector.

your tlkn bout the brake control . . . thats what i don't understand if your

trailer has brakes on it its gonna require a bigger plug right , , , so thats

why i figure since my little plug is connected to a bigger plug with more

connecters or prone's or prongs what ever you may call them then its

gotta be brake control set up . . . but i don't have no box any where

noticable on the truck that would go along with that . . . every one iv ever

seen has a box for adjustment with it . . . but ima shut up lol till i get

piks of what im talking bout don't wanna wear anybody out thats trying

to explain all this to me

you have a bit more of an edge over me tho since you have longer wheel

base . . . like stated earlyier my rig can do it no problem its just being

able to control it and stop it . . . hell since my brakes are soft already

it would take 5 secounds for brakes to be bare metal with that kind of

weight on it . . . plus the 10500 pounds being a sale boat about 30 ft

long and most of the weight on the bow it might just tilt my truck up lol
