Max negative offset on leveled 2017 Z71 Tahoe

I just got a Z71 and already have the itch to put on some different wheels and tires. I will install a leveling kit (whether I get new wheels/tires or not). I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but am still learning about what size wheels/tires I can fit with just leveling. My question is how much negative offset can I get away with on a set of wheels. I'm assuming the more negative offset, the narrower the sidewall is going to have to be to keep from rubbing. Does everyone pretty much just run a +1 offset?

I don't want the tires to fill up the entire fender well, so I probably won't get anything larger than a 285/55.

I was going to do 2.5/1.5 level but I ended up do 3.5 RC lift. Running 20x10-12 fuel calipers with 33x12.5. Absolutely no rubbing. Tires stick out about an inch and wheel wells are not stuffed at all.

You've got a great looking Tahoe - that's exactly the look I'm going for. Looking at RC's site though, it looks like they only make the 3.5 lift kit for a 2WD 2017 Tahoe - is yours 2WD or 4WD?

I have a 4x4 2015 - I made the desicion for the lift last minute at the shop and they had the RC lift in stock - I never caught the model number. I actually came there with my 2.5 level ready to install, but decided I wanted to avoid rubbing/trimming all together and run 20x10s - so RC lift it was. The car sits 6ft 8in high, so I’m still able to park in the garage and most parking garages.
