So...I may be getting back into a 21+ Tahoe/Yukon or Suburban - I like my truck but kinda miss having an SUV and would want something newer but not BRAND new due to silly pricing.
Im leaning towards a suburban due to it being about the same size as my 19 F150 SuperCrew Short bed, actually a few inches shorter lol, but still offer the 3rd row just in case I have to load up my daughters girl scout friends and our foster kid. But still have enough cargo room for a few subs and the occasional dog in back.

So with that said...I know these 10spd transmissions are one of the bigger problems, correct? Anything else I should look out for?
The 5.3 is only 355hp and the 6.2's seem to be a bit hard to find....anyone getting any usable power out of any tuners available? Black Bear tuning working magic on these like the old ones?
I would more than likely lower it a few inches, how well does the new style suspension operate while lowered?
I know they all drink gas and I avg about 15-16 with my 5.0 F150, so that's not a huge concern.
Second row capt chairs...do they slide back and forth?

I'm in no rush to do something so we will see what happens.

From a '22 Yukon XL perspective...

No problems with the 10 speed. I think that I have heard that ford had many more problems with their version vs GM, but I could be wrong.
I have also heard people don't like the cylinder deactivation and the negative effect on the lifters. Probably not an issue on a used vehicle with enough miles under it belt? You can also get a tuner to turn this off.
The second row captains chairs do move fore and aft in mine.

I’m in a 2018 Suburban 1-ton. Has the 6.0 Vortec with a 6L90 trans. I know you asked about the new model but I did the Blackbear tune on the truck and the truck really came alive. Feels a lot more powerful than only 360hp and the truck is stout, if you want long term reliability, this is what I would recommend.

No, you’re right. The ford side has reported a lot more issues with the 10R80. It’s the main reason we ditched our 2020 Expedition.
