front door wire harnesses? Seems like they could reach that from lower front fenders.. This is a puzzle for sure!

Been looking at other threads.. that screen over the hvac is on my to-do list!
Are you sure they're still getting in? Maybe there's a few that got stuck inside?

You will not stop mice from getting in to where they want to get in. They can get in through very small openings and they can/will chew/scratch through most materials you wouldn't think they could.

One trick many people claim works is leaving the hood open. Like us, mice like roofs on their homes. No roof, they look elsewhere. I do it in my mowers and tractor while parked in the shed. The Hoe and the Bull have the hoods open in the garage for battery tenders. Might not be practical for vehicles parked outside with no carport or other shelter.

Bait traps might be an open in some cases.
