Hmmm I can't see GM shutting down production of the 2023s to deal with the backlog of trucks. That would be a 180 from their "build shy" strategy. Then again imagine shipping out 2023 Tahoe and Yukons while 2022 orders are sitting on a GM overflow lot. You will really burn some relationships with customers. Its going to be interesting what happens over the next couple of months. We know it is in GMs interest to get their inventory out; they can't book revenue until they do so.
That is the only advantage we have right now: its all about the stock price and quarterly performance.
2021 GM trucks and SUVs were hitting the lots into the first quarter of this year while 2022s had been already been delivered for months...so yeah, I can see it happening - it's pretty much a given at this point. As an economy, we're still at a point where the majority of people will accept what would generally be considered unacceptable customer service in order to get a new vehicle
